Published in Large Font.

Erin Lovelien grew up a suburban girl enamored by small-town America. It wasn’t until she started writing the love story of her maternal grandparents that she began to understand that yearning. She always wondered what made their love so profound, what kept them strong during the toughest of times. She now realizes it was because they knew early on what it takes most of us generations to discover.

Carol Cox and Charlie Yarletts knew how to appreciate a hug in the morning, a freshly baked pie, the sound of Amish buggy wheels on a Sunday, the crack of a bat, the wave of a dish towel…a smile. They never took for granted the kindness of a stranger, the mentorship of a teacher, an “I’m sorry,” or an “I love you.” They understood profound truths that are now left behind as their life’s legacy.

This is their story, a tale of two souls becoming one in a town still barely on the map. And this is the story of a young girl who realizes the world doesn’t have to feel so big all the time. That life lives in the little things.
